No Cost Hive Placement Opportunity – Bush Capital Beekeeping

Opportunity currently exists for agricultural land holders or managers within the Queanbeyan-Palerang region for hosting both migratory and non migratory hives.

We are looking to work with like minded locals who can see the mutual benefits of hosting bees on their land.

Primarily, sites will need to be accessible to resources such as crop or native pollen / nectar producing flora, along with a water source such as a stock dam for the bees.

If the site is currently stocked, we can discuss the use of a perimeter fence around the apiary site.

Sites away from other commercial apiary operations, and will need to be accessible by the beekeeper with 4×4 Ute and or trailer are ideal.

What is in it for you?

HOney

Enough free honey for you and your immediate family.

Non commercial quantities of honey will be made available to you and your immediate family, as will other products of the hive. In a good season you may end up with more than you know what to do with!

Additional Pollinators

Approximately 65% of agricultural pollination within Australia is performed by European Honey Bees. Of this 65% it is estimated feral populations contribute significantly to this percentage.

With the advent of the Varroa mite being soon established within the region, there will be little to no feral colonies of European honey bees left. Once they have died out, only managed honey bees will be available. This is a scenario already being experienced here in Australia!

A Second set of eyes

Most importantly, I provide another set of eyes on your property. This scenario is ideal if the property or site is not always visited, and I can alert you to any potential security, vandalism or stock issues.
